Family Fun

Tonight the boys had some fun with Daddy when they got out the airplanes and flew them around our backyard.  We have no trees, no fence and empty lots next to us, so it is a great place to fly them.  Once they got them all fixed, of course.

This afternoon Gma Beth, Gpa Ray, Aunt Barbara and cousin Charlie came to hang out.  We made an attempt at a cousins picture.  Charlie was way more interested in climbing the stairs. And Greg is mimicking what Gma Beth was doing to try and get the boys to smile.
Yesterday we made a run to get some summer necessities.  Both boys needed a new pair of crocs, and Doug has been insisting on wearing tank tops instead of t-shirts.  I have no idea why. And since he only had 2 that still fit, we went to the mall in search of some more.  Greg found a hat with a baseball on it, that he really wanted, so we left with it too.  Here he is posing with his new hat.
And here is Doug showing off his new shoes.  He loves them, Greg loves his, and I love that they can put them on all by themselves.
Okay, and next time I'll try and upload the pictures in the right order.  :)

Easter Fun

A few days before Easter the boys worked on their duck crafts from Gma Janet.  Greg was so happy that he got to use a glue stick too.

Doug is all business when he is working on a craft.  He did not want to look up and smile for the camera.  But he worked so hard and did such a nice job.
Okay, these pictures got a little out of order, but I didn't think you'd really mind.  After naps on Sunday we colored eggs.

Doug informed us that he could color eggs without any help.  So we let him, and sure enough, he did a great job.

After we got home from church we gave the boys their Easter baskets while we made dinner. But I just have to tell you about our Sunday dinner.  I went shopping for the supplies on Friday, after the boys had spent 2 hours at a birthday party.  So they were tired and not in the mood for shopping, but we were out, and I wanted to get the stuff.  We made a quick stop at Whole Foods for the side dishes, and then to the HoneyBaked Ham store for the ham.  Of course, the line was outside the door.  Of course, the boys were super tired by now.  But, I convinced them that it would be worth it and entertained them through our half hour wait.  We made it and I decided that since we waited that long, I was getting a bone-in quarter ham (not just a pound sliced, as is recommended for a family of 2 adults and 2 small children).  And let me just say, that the boys ate that ham like nothing I have ever seen.  I couldn't cut it fast enough for them.  We about ate the whole thing! I told Todd we'll need a full size ham when they are teenagers.

Hope you had a Happy Easter!

He is Risen!

This is both precious and hilarious.....

In case you couldn't tell they were singing the first verse of Christ the Lord is Risen Today.
I'll do a longer Easter post later, but I wanted to share this now.  Oh yeah, and those feet you see coming down the stairs - yep - Todd! He was at church and home with us all day! Praise the Lord! Happy Easter!

Happy Spring!

We are enjoying the fact that it is technically spring, even though it isn't always very warm these days.  When it is warm we try and get out and do some fun things.  Todd has been SUPER busy at work, so I have been trying to keep the boys busy too.  Here they are on a recent trip to the zoo.  That was the first time I didn't take a stroller or the wagon because they both said they wanted to walk.  That maybe wasn't such a great idea because they both got pretty tired of walking around, and Doug wondered why I couldn't carry them both.  Please.

We did get the swing set up thanks to the help of Gma Janet and Gpa Delmar.  It has been a little cold to play on it too much lately.  Although the other day we did get to spend some quality time on the swings.

On Friday we had a "hockey party" with friends at church.  We brought in dinner and hockey sticks for the kids, and one Dad who has all the hockey gear put on the goalie outfit and let the kids whack balls at him. The kids loved it.  Actually we all did.  The Dads played with the kids and the Moms got a chance to have a conversation without being interrupted every 2 seconds!

On Saturday I took the kids my parents so they could have their picture taken with lambs and bunnies.  They did a good job, and we got a cute shot of them with a lamb.  Doug asked where the bunnies were, so while we were waiting to see the pictures, they brought out a bunny for the boys to hold.
And on Sunday I took the boys to the neighborhood egg hunt.  Poor Todd missed the fun because he was at work for 15 hours.  But the boys had a blast hunting for eggs and candy and both got baseball cards for their prize. They loved it.  This is such a great action shot.  Doug is asking "Can I have this piece of candy?"
