Happy 2012!

There are 2 reasons that I have been bad at blogging lately. The first is that my pink camera broke. So I was using the SLR camera, except I don't really know how to use the SLR, and the pictures are uploaded to a different computer and so it just becomes a big pain to try and put a picture on the blog. Second, December was a busy month for us, with some really fun times and a few not-so-great moments. And I wasn't sure I wanted to talk about some of the not-so-great moments, but I also didn't want to act like it was all wonderful. Sooo, I sort of avoided this blog for a while. And then I saw a post on my friend's blog about how her Christmas wasn't picture perfect either. And how the only one who is perfect is Jesus. (Right on, Tiffany!) And it made me think how hard the Holidays can be because of the expectations we put on ourselves or on our family members. First, I expected to be in China and I was disappointed that we were not and Lainey was not here with us. And then there was a bit of a clash over my expectations for my extended family's gatherings which led to a bit of a disagreement. For the record, I apologized.

So December wasn't perfect, but there were some really fun moments too like
running in the Jingle Bell Run with friends and going to Snow Days with my family. This picture is from Snow Days at the Cleveland Indians stadium. We bundled up like we were headed to the tundra, but it was sunny and not windy so we were all hot.

And there were a few picture perfect moments like when the boys woke us up at 5AM to open presents, or when we got some updated pictures of Lainey. And sitting around the table talking to Tina and Derek after the boys had gone to bed (oh, well, except for when Todd broke the jar that had the party mix).

So, on to January. So far so good, especially since it's been relatively warm and I've been able to run outside wearing my new UA coldgear (which I love) that Todd got me for Christmas.

Oh, and he also got me a new camera for Christmas (it's red though) so I should be able to blog more. :)
