Greg's Day

Yesterday was declared Greg Day. The day before, being Doug's first day of school, Doug got to pick what he wanted for dinner that night. So while we were eating, I asked Doug what he wanted for dinner on his 2nd day of school. He didn't know or care so said we should let Greg pick. Greg didn't really care either, but decided it should be Greg Day. So we asked him what he wanted to do on Greg Day, and he wanted to go shopping for a new football jersey. His red one is too small, and I had been telling him we would get him a new one. Plus, he overheard Grandma Beth offer to get him a new jersey, so he has had this jersey on the brain for a few days. So yesterday we headed out. In addition to the jersey (which he is not wearing in this picture) they had the football uniform sets on sale. The only thing we really needed was a new pair of football pants, but the only way to get football pants was to purchase the set. So here is one happy (I mean, tough) football player:

And in case you were wondering, I did get 2 sets so there was one for Doug when he got home from school.

First Day of 1st Grade

Doug was excited to go back to school. I actually did very well with it this year too. I was able to talk to his teacher at the open house last night and everything. Unlike last year, when I stood behind Todd and let him do all the talking because I was afraid I was going to burst into tears. But this year, things were back to normal. I did all the talking. :)

Dino Fun

I took the boys to the science center for the Dino Exhibit. It was hard to get pictures because the boys were in constant motion, it was dark in there, and my camera battery was going dead. But they had a great time.

Then later that week Doug got out a birthday present he had forgotten about - a dino dig kit. It was a large rock-type thing with dinosaur bones hidden in the middle. It came with special eye protectors and everything, so the boys were super excited to try it out. A few minutes in, Greg scratched his knuckle and bled a little. He hates the sight of blood, so he decided he was done with the dig. Doug and Todd stayed outside and worked for quite a while and in the end assembled a velociraptor.

A Big Announcement

We're sorry that this post doesn't have a picture, but we have some big news that we are finally ready to share. We're adopting a little girl from China! It's been a long road of paperwork but we have been matched and have pre-approval. Now we wait on our Letter of Acceptance, which will probably take several months. So now we wait patiently (yeah, right) and maybe do a little shopping for some girl clothes! :)
