Doug's old car seat

Here is (almost) 8 month Doug when we changed him from an infant car seat to his "big boy" car seat.  You may notice, in addition to Doug, there are a number of changes documented by that picture.

And here is Doug the other day when he got in that "big boy" car seat for the last time.  Sniff. He now has a booster seat for a "really big boy".
I forgot to upload the booster seat picture.  Next post. :)

Friendly and an Expo

Oh Friendly.  We decided to make sure Friendly wouldn't add to the cat population this spring.  We weren't sure if it was a boy or a girl, but didn't want to risk the chance that one day it would have kitties in our garage.  So, after much protest on its part, we managed to get it in a carrier and headed to the vet's office.  They confirmed Friendly is a girl.  But after they started in on the surgery, they realized she was already spayed.  So she got stitches for nothing, and a dreaded E collar.  Anyone who's pet has had to have one knows the misery this causes the poor pet.  I was told to leave it on her for 10 days.  I think we made it 10 hours.  Friendly got stuck under the van and refused to eat or drink.  So we came up with a new plan, and one everyone seems happy with for now.  Friendly is in the laundry room (so it doesn't get out when we open the garage door - so we can keep an eye on her) with no E collar.

I know.  Looks a little like Chester, huh?  Greg still gets confused.

Anyway, this morning we took the boys to a sports expo.  It was great - lots of fun games to play including baseball which they played a few times.  Here's Greg:
And they even had some wildlife/outdoor sporting type activities and Doug made a beeline for the cross bow guy.
We all had a great time.  Our favorite baseball teams had booths and gave us their 2010 schedules.  Is it spring yet?

Just a Normal Day

Today I had my camera along, so I decided to document our day.  First we took Doug to preschool, then Greg has soccer class.  He is doing great - a little scared at first (Coach Chris lets me play too) but by the end of class today I was able to walk over to where the other Moms were standing and Greg was fine.

Then we went back to preschool because today there was Chapel and Doug's class was singing. They did a great job!
Doug stays for lunch bunch so Greg and I left again and went to Panera for our own lunch.  I know one day my boys won't want to eat at Panera with their Mom, but for now they don't mind.
Then we came home for naps!
