Happy Easter 2011

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Despite the dreary weather we had a very nice family day. After church we came home and took a few pictures, then told the boys to get changed and then they could open their Easter baskets. We suggested they wear their new t-shirts that Gma Beth and Papa Ray brought back from the Holy Land (it seemed fitting). Doug gets changed in about 2 seconds flat, but Greg is yelling that he can't get dressed. T&I are sitting on the couch and telling him to "just get dressed and come down". He's yelling back down that he can't. So finally we tell him just to come down and I will help him (note: this is a kid who changes his own clothes at least 3 times a day. He can definitely get dressed by himself, so we thought he was just being silly). He comes down with his shirt in his hand, still telling us it doesn't work. So I go to put it on him, and sure enough, the screen print had gone through to the back side of the shirt, basically sealing it shut. I had to pull it apart, but we got it fixed. G was right, something was wrong with it.

So after we get G in his shirt and pose for a quick picture, they get into their baskets. I got them toys rather than candy, because they don't need any more candy (not that they need toys, but these are at least things we can use outside this spring/summer). We got them some new street hockey sticks - so after lunch we went outside and played drive-way hockey. We also took Casey on a walk, practiced some ball, had an inside egg hunt, made popcorn and ice cream for dinner, and colored eggs. We had fun.
Happy Easter!

Catching up

Somehow I got a bit behind updating this blog. Let's see, after spring break we got back into the swing of our usual routine. We had fun celebrating several birthdays - including Mark and Charlie's - so we got to make a few trips up north. D&G were very happy that there was a candy hunt at both parties. Oh, and ball started. So that will keep us busy for the next few months (Todd is going to play on 2 teams again this year, as well as co-coach Doug's team). And we've enjoyed playing outside on some of these nice spring days. So we've been busy, but I know we're not the only ones. I can think of another family's blog which has been sitting idle longer than mine (right Tina?). And I'll try and not wax philosophical on this blog, because really, who has time to read that, but I will say I have been feeling like at times we just keep adding and adding and adding to the activities, when really I need to be better at picking and choosing. That sometimes it needs to be OR not AND. Because life can get tiring at this pace, right G?

Anyway, last night was the art fair at school. Adorable.
