Lainey has been home about 9 months and is 2 years old! She is sweet, sassy, opinionated, strong willed, funny, into-everything, and adorable (and she knows it)! We are so blessed to have her.
Here is a snap-shot of Lainey at 2:
She weighs 20 lbs 4 oz and is 31 inches long. She's actually on the chart for height now (2%)! She walks pretty well, and tries to run but she is a little wobbly when she tries to stand still.
If she hears the phone ring or beep for a text, she puts her hand to her ear. She also likes to talk on the phone. (And by talk, I mean people talk to her and she stares at the phone, and occasionally says bye bye). If she sees a crying baby, she hits me to get my attention, then points to the crying baby.
She is a good helper, and will put things away if asked. She especially likes to help me put clothes away. She has a blankie (that she calls baby) and a baby doll (also baby) that she HAS to sleep with, and for the most part she carries them around at all times.
She can understand us and can say a few words: MINE, bye bye, hi, water, baby, dada, doug, geg (Greg), nononono. She says Mommy and Mama but sometimes those mean me and sometimes they mean "pay attention to me" to anyone standing by.
She is a good eater and really likes snacks (especially fish crackers) and chocolate.
She tolerates the pets. She isn't scared of the cats anymore, and they seem to have an understanding of "you leave me alone, I'll leave you alone". Casey, bless her heart, tries to go sniff Lainey, or eat something she dropped from her chair, which Lainey does not like. Lainey is okay with Casey as long as Casey doesn't get too close.
She is starting to like books and likes to play ball. For her birthday we got her a strider bike, she likes to have what D&G have, so this way she has her own bike too. Here are a few pictures from her birthday:
