When we heard Doug waking up yesterday, we treated him to a trio of us singing Happy Birthday. He thought that was really nice, but immediately ran downstairs to see if he had any presents. We let him open some from us, but then it was time to get ready for preschool. He shares his bday with another little guy at school so he wasn't snack person (but he will be on Wednesday) and he was okay with that. He was also very excited that the phone kept ringing and he got 3 more happy birthday songs before he went to school!

While he was at school, Greg and I ran some errands. We got some balloons and things from the party store and also got a gift for Doug from Greg. Poor Greg didn't feel well (bad chest cold and a fever) so I called to get him in to see our pediatrician. So after we picked up Doug from school, we ran to the library (one of Doug's favorite places anyway) to keep ourselves occupied until it was time to see the doctor. Once we saw Dr Tim, we found out that his cold is probably just a virus, but he has an ear infection. So off to Target we go for our prescription. By now the boys are super tired, but its very late in the afternoon, so way past nap time. Then Daddy came home and saved the day because he started putting together Doug's new toy and we let Greg give Doug the present from "him" (a matching hockey stick/puck so Doug will stop taking Greg's).

What is Doug wearing? I know. He wanted to change back in to jammies when we got home (he was that tired) and chose not to match AT ALL. I decided to let it slide since it was his birthday.

Then we had his birthday dinner (chicken and rice). Not long after this picture Greg went to bed (630 - he was done). We let Doug stay up a little longer and he played with his new toy. Happy Birthday Doug!
